Here's a few details which we think will make your first visit to Blundell Park run smoothly, and will hopefully make your visit to Grimsby Town more welcoming.
1. Where we are:
Grimsby Town Football Club is actually situated in the town of Cleethorpes - postcode: DN35 7PY.
2. How to get here:
By Road: Follow the signs for Grimsby on the M180, continue on this road when it becomes the A180. This road runs right past the Blundell Park and the ground is adjacent to the McDonalds Drive-Thru.
Supporters and Team coaches should leave Grimsby Road to Tiverton Street and will be parked along Harrington Street.
By Train: The nearest train station to the ground is Cleethorpes, which is around a 20 minute walk away. Upon exiting the station, turn right and head down the High Street following the signs. You will eventually come down to Blundell Park on your right.
Parking is extremely limited around Blundell Park. We advise supporters to arrive early and use the local street parking. Please be aware though that some areas close to the ground have match day parking restrictions.
By Bus: Stagecoach operate services that run directly opposite Blundell Park that are free to season ticket holders on matchdays. Supporters should look out for the number 9, 13 and 46 routes on matchdays.
Tickets can be bought online by visiting the following website - http://www.gtfctickets.co.uk – please note, there is no facility to print your ticket. Your ticket will be left for collection at the Ticket Collection Point in the Club Shop.
Ticket Prices for the 2017/18 Season can be found here.
5. Matchday Programme:
Our award-winning programme (The Mariner), 64 pages, can be bought from the entrances to Blundell Park, from the ticket office and around the ground - cost is £3.00
6. Hot Food & Drinks:
Food on offer inside the ground include a range of Pukka Pies; Steak, Chicken Balti and Cheese and Onion (all £3). Pukka Pasties (£3), Jumbo Sausage Rolls (£2.50), Cheeseburgers (£3.50), Burgers (£3.20) and Jumbo Hot Dogs (£3.20).
There are fully-stocked bars throughout the ground. The Mariners Trust run bars are situated at the back of Pontoon Stand, the Main Stand, in the Lower Youngs Stand and in the Osmond Stand (away fans).
Famous Fish & Chips
Grimsby and Cleethorpes is renowned for its Fish & Chips and we recommend that you visit the County Fish & Chip shop on Grimsby Road, which is just a short walk from Blundell Park. Or we recommend Steel's Fish & Chip restaurant in the Market Place in Cleethorpes.
7. Club Shop:
The Grimsby Town club shop is situated off Imperial Avenue and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and from 9am until kick-off on a matchday.
8. Seating at Blundell Park:
Blundell Park has a capacity of 9,052 and is an all seater, no smoking stadium.
9. Disabled Supporters.
Due to the restrictions that Blundell Park has our designated wheelchair point is in the Main Stand which is used by both Home and Away fans. We have 22 wheelchair bays and 30 seats for helpers, these need to be pre-booked by contacting GTFC directly on 01472 605050.
Each disabled fan in receipt of High Rate DLA/Enhanced PIP is entitled to one carer free. The disabled toilet is also located in this area and is unfortunately the only toilet in Blundell Park with disabled access.
As the ticket office is located on the opposite side of the stadium to away fan turnstiles it is advised that any ticket collections are made before making your way into the ground.
The Main Stand
Situated on the north side of the ground, is the Main Stand which dates from 1901 and is the oldest stand in the Football League. Only the central part of the stand dates from 1901, the rest having been modified in some guise or other. This stand houses the changing rooms and disabled supporters' areas. The players' tunnel runs from the centre of this stand onto the pitch between the two dugouts. The Main Stand is a Family Stand which also incorporates the 'Family Lounge'.
The Pontoon Stand (Home Supporters)
In 1899, Blundell Park was opened with the original Pontoon Stand constructed alongside the Main Stand, but this stand was eventually demolished in 1961 and was replaced by the current Pontoon Stand which was built by funds raised by the club's supporters. The stand is situated behind the goal to the right of the tunnel and was converted to an all-seater facility in 1995.
The Young's Stand
The Young's Stand is the third to be built on the opposite side of the ground to the tunnel and changing rooms. Originally the club had moved the Abbey Park Stand from their previous ground the Abbey Park Stadium, this stand was eventually demolished in 1925 and was replaced by the Barrett's Stand. The Barrett's itself was eventually demolished in 1980 and was replaced with a two tier stand paid for by the fish processing firm Findus. The stand therefore was named the "Findus Stand".
The stand was opened in 1982 and is the largest inside the stadium with the upper tier offering a scenic view of the Humber Estuary, Spurn Point and the North Sea, from this point you can clearly view the shipping going down the estuary. The lower tier's front rows are open to the elements.
In 1990s Findus ceased production in the town, so the stand went through several other sponsored names. Firstly the stand was renamed the Stones Bitter stand before later becoming the John Smiths stand in 1997 and then the Carlsberg stand in 2004. Findus returned to the Town in 2009 and the stand then reverted to its original name.
For the 2016/2017 season, a new sponsorship deal with Young's Seafood was announced with the tiers being renamed to the Upper Young's and Lower Young's stands.
The Osmond Stand (Away Supporters)
The Osmond Stand is situated at one end of the ground and opposite the pontoon Stand. This replaced the Hazel Grove Stand which was moved from the club's previous Abbey Park Stadium home. This stand was built in 1939 when the Hazel Grove was demolished shortly before the start of World War II.
This stand predominately houses visiting supporters and can accommodate up to 1900 supporters.
Where to stay in the town
We recommend The Burlington Hotel, Cleethorpes.
